Why I built YourPond: to get us back out in real life

I built YourPond because I wanted to organize my life, and I didn't want to do it on a platform that sucks you into a timeline.
I wanted to track who went to what, so I could hold on to the memories and remember the little details about people. Those details are what make you a more thoughtful friend.
Social media gives you a feed of everyone's highlights. It doesn't help you remember your friend's kids' names or the last time you actually saw each other. And it definitely doesn't get you out of the house.
So I built the opposite. YourPond keeps an organized list of the people in your life, what you did together and the details that matter to them.
Then I made it fun. You collect stamps for the places you go and the things you do, and earn badges along the way. Your life starts to feel like something worth collecting, and that's what gets you to say yes to the trip, the race or the dinner you keep putting off.
The goal was never for you to spend more time in my app. It's for you to look up and go see someone.
Who have you been meaning to see?
