This Cookie Policy explains how YourPond uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our service.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They serve various purposes including keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences.

2. Cookies We Use

2a. Essential Cookies (Required)

These cookies are necessary for YourPond to function. They cannot be disabled.

• Authentication cookies: keep you logged in to your account across sessions (managed by Clerk)
• Security cookies: protect against cross-site request forgery and other security threats
• Session cookies: maintain your session state while using YourPond

2b. Functional Cookies (Required)

These cookies remember your preferences and settings within YourPond.

• UI preferences: such as display toggles and filter settings
• Display settings: zoom level and layout preferences on the network map

3. Analytics and Marketing

This section covers two kinds of measurement.

Privacy-friendly analytics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not track users across websites, and does not build advertising profiles. It collects anonymized, aggregate data about page views, device types, and referral sources. This runs on every visit.

Analytics and advertising measurement. When we run advertising or additional analytics, we use services that help us understand which channels and campaigns bring people to YourPond, whether a visit led to a signup or a subscription, and which features people use once they are here. These services set cookies or similar identifiers, and may use that information to measure and improve the ads we run elsewhere on the internet. Section 5 lists everything we currently use, and Section 3a explains how to turn the optional ones off.

What these services never receive. Anything you put into YourPond. No contact names or details, no notes, no relationships, no saved locations — we do not send account content of any kind to an analytics or advertising provider. We measure what happens, never what you wrote. We design our page addresses and event names so they do not carry your content.

3a. Your Choices

How to tell what is running. If we are setting any optional cookies, you will see a cookie banner the first time you visit, and a Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of every page. If you do not see them, we are not setting any optional cookies — there is nothing running and nothing to turn off. We will not quietly start: the banner appears before the first optional cookie is set, not after.

Essential cookies — the ones that keep you signed in and let payments work — are always required for the site to function, and are covered in Section 2. They do not require consent and are not affected by your choices here.

When optional cookies are running. Where the law requires your consent before non-essential cookies are set, we ask first and set nothing until you answer. Everywhere else you can turn them off at any time from Cookie Preferences, or from the Your Privacy Choices link in the footer. We also honor recognized browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), through our consent tool.

Turning optional cookies off does not affect your ability to use YourPond in any way.

4. Error Tracking

YourPond uses Sentry for error tracking and application monitoring. Sentry may set cookies for session tracking to help us diagnose and fix bugs. Sentry does not use this data for advertising and does not track you across other websites.

5. Services We Use

The table below is everything we currently use — nothing more. We keep it up to date as our tools change. Adding a service for a purpose already described in this policy does not change how your information is used, so we update this table rather than reissuing the policy.

When we run optional analytics or marketing services, they will appear in this table and can be switched off from Cookie Preferences. We do not permit any of these services to receive data from inside your YourPond account.

6. Managing Cookies

When optional cookies are in use, the simplest way to manage them is Cookie Preferences, linked at the bottom of every page. You can change your choices at any time and the change takes effect immediately. If that link is not on the page, no optional cookies are in use — see Section 3a.

Browser-level cookie controls work regardless. Where we run optional cookies, we honor recognized browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, through our consent tool.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before they take effect. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
