A Note on Your Privacy
A note on your privacy
YourPond holds some of the most personal information you keep anywhere — who the people in your life are, where they live, how they're connected to each other, and the little details you never want to forget. A contact book that actually knows your people is more intimate than a social feed. We take that seriously.
We wanted to put it in plain language.
What we protect
Your sensitive information is encrypted. That covers the details that feel personal — things like home addresses, private notes about the people in your life, how you met them, and the context you add over time. Even if a database were somehow copied, those details would come out as unreadable data, not as your contacts.
We run on industry-standard infrastructure and follow the security practices you'd expect from a product that charges for itself. Authentication is handled by Clerk. Payments are handled by Stripe. Data is backed up automatically and can be restored if something goes wrong.
None of this is new. It's just what "taking it seriously" actually looks like.
What we will never do
This list matters more than the technical one.
- We will never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Your contact book is not a product we resell.
- We will never use your data to train AI models. The natural language feature uses AI to read what you wrote — but your words aren't used to train anything. They're read once, parsed, and gone.
- We will never show you ads. There is no advertising business to protect inside YourPond. The only incentive we have is to make the product worth paying for.
This is why YourPond has a paid tier. If the product doesn't charge for itself, something else has to pay the bills — and that something else is usually you. We'd rather charge a fair price and mean it when we say your data isn't for sale.
What you can always do
Whatever we say about privacy only matters if you can act on it.
- You can delete everything. Any time. From Settings. It's a real delete, not a hidden "we keep a copy" delete. Your account, your contacts, your moments, your notes — gone when you say so.
- You can take your data with you. Email us at
hello@yourpond.ioand we'll get you an export. It's yours. - You can stop any time. Cancel, pause, walk away. Your data doesn't become hostage to your subscription.
The honest part
We're not going to tell you YourPond is invincible, unhackable, or built like a bank. Every product that's ever said that has been wrong about it eventually. Here's what's honestly true:
- We built YourPond to be a safe place for the information you keep about the people you love. We act like that's our job, because it is.
- We're small. We move fast. That means we can ship security improvements quickly — and it also means we lean on well-respected infrastructure providers for the heavy lifting, because reinventing cryptography is how you get it wrong.
- If you need a product where we can't see your data under any circumstance, YourPond isn't that product today. We need to be able to show you your data when you log in. A product designed so that even we can't read it is a different kind of tool with different tradeoffs. If that's what you need, use one of those instead.
That's what honesty looks like in 2026. You probably got here because other tools have stopped treating you like the customer. We don't want to make the same mistake.
If something goes wrong
If you ever notice something that doesn't look right — an account that isn't yours, a feature behaving strangely, something that makes you uncomfortable — email us at hello@yourpond.io. A real person reads it.
If you're a security researcher and you find a vulnerability, same address. We'll respond.
YourPond is built by LilyPadLabs — a company of one with a frog for a mascot and a lot of opinions about the way contact books should work. Thanks for being here.
