Not everyone has a photo. Now everyone can have a face.
You don't have a photo of everyone in your life.
You've got one of your best friend and your sister. But the neighbor two doors down, your kid's teacher, the friend who always helps you move - they sit in your contacts as a gray circle with two initials. It works, but it's a little cold, and it makes the people you're trying to remember feel a little less real.
So we added avatars. You can now give any contact an illustrated face, picked from more than a hundred we drew to look like real people - different ages, skin tones, styles, and moods. It's free, and you can switch back to a photo whenever you want.
Open someone's profile, tap their picture, and choose "Choose an avatar." Pick the one that feels the most like them. That's the whole thing.
The face then shows up everywhere they do - the contact card, the detail page, the family tree, and the card that opens when you tap them in Ripples. A pond full of gray circles turns into a pond full of actual people.
Go give a face to someone who's been an initial for too long!
